Default Tailshaft loop position

I'm fitting a tailshaft loop and was told it needed to be 6inches from uni joint but my H pipe is exactly 6inches from my front uni ! Should I put it infront of the H pipe or behind ?

Depends where H pipe is..
The loop should be no further back than 6" from uni...
Or you'll have clearance issues..

Yes. Has to be within a max of 6" from front uni, so 4" should be no drama.

yep i had a similar issue on a xe i built up,i actually made my own safety loop,and mine was 3.5 to 4 inches behind the front uni joint,i guess its just so with suspension movement its still inside the loop,if it ever broke (heaven forbid,as that would be a wild ride with all the noise etc!),so i think you are all set,good to see you are looking at this as a lot of people overlook it,but imagine a tailshaft letting go at the front without the loop in place,blokes have died even in the street class 11.00 second bracket.well done mate.

After my last carnage.....I'll be fitting a loop on the rear too. That thing can flail around pretty bad.

thats pretty wild!,good you got it all on film though,better than the front letting go,if the front lets go and it digs in,well the car can do real well in the pole vault section of the olympics,and the driver gets to go along for the ride,not good
