Unfortunately it's not going to be here for much longer.
Then what will the enraged find next to protest about is my question?
Curious how Palestine is part of their movement now.

Yes it will, you don't give into the radical minority mob, that is what they want you to do.
To be honest I don't really care what day we celebrate Australia day, but I hate the hostile abusive methods being thrown at us and them trying to rewrite history.
This nation is being divided by the left woke crowd.

Australia Day will not be changed for at least another 25 years.

It will take that long for the Perpetually Outraged at Anything Movement to come to a consensus of a name and date of whatever we are supposed to be commemorating.

Mao Tse Tungs swim down the Yellow River on 16 July 1966 would be a good start to help get back into the good books of the CCP.

Just keep reminding them they are supporting global terrorism committing genocide against a persecuted minority and Osama bin Laden would be proud of their efforts.

1. Captain Cook @ Botany Bay: May the 29th 1770

2. First fleet arrival @ Botany Bay: January the 18th 1788

How have either of these got anything to do with January the 26th ?

I’m sick of the “Outraged” minority “driving change” that affects the Majority.

The Voice referendum result was a taste of what the Majority feels about this constant drama ? Surely ?

You sure it was the flag that triggered them?

Perhaps they just dont like the colours black, red and yellow..

I was in Glenrowan on the afternoon of 26th. Australia Day was being good-naturedly marked, including a cover of I Still Call Australia Home by a band performing at some public event. No signs of reactionaries or counter-protests. If one wanted a “traditional” Australia Day, somewhere like this would be a nice choice to visit.

Worth remembering the person who made Glenrowan a notable town, also penned the “Jerilderie Letter” - an essay on perceived unfairness and how they felt obligated to challenge it.

I don't know exactly when things went wrong but our country is not in a good place with all this crap going on.

I watched the cricket while sinking tinnies and prawns and had a good day. And there are people who would have a problem with that

There is too much media attention to the noisy minority ****stirrers who oppose everything.

Think of some cause to be offended about, some placards, a megaphone, whistles and a drum, and a dozen offended luvvies can get their heads on TV for 5 minutes while some young earnest reporter makes a mountain out of an ants nest.

What amuses me, ( but it is not funny ) whatever the cause, the protesters do not have a viable solution or alternative. Make lot of noise, be a general PITA, disperse and then go back to living like the rest of the population, until the next opprtunity.
Get arrested, appear in court, say they are sorry and didn't understand, judge pats them on the head and says bye bye, make a contrite statement to the media .........., rinse and repeat.

I had to work on Australia Day doing a tour for international tourists along with another driver, both of us having tour guides providing running commentry.

My guide spoke about the holiday and touched very briefly on the recent politics surrounding it which I found appropriate and respectful to both sides of the debate, however, my colleague said his guide was completely opposite and spent much of the first hour referring to it as invasion day whilst using words like 'slaughtering' and 'murdering' which he found not only distressing but also embarassing as it wasnt well received by the paying tourists who were looking for a positive experience.

Sounds like the guide overstepped their employment role, should have been reported to your management.
Personal opinions should have been kept to themselves.

I had great Australia Day and long weekend.
Love seeing all the flags out, front yards, hanging from balconies, out of cars.
Less to love I guess but still love this country.
