Most likely the quickest here, even quicker than some bigger cubed super sized specials.

I will be really happy when it runs a 10.2. I know that this engine can run real quick but not with the compression it has at the moment. Compression is very low. The cam thats in it at the moment is way too big for the compression i am running. But when it runs a 10.2 i am going to put nitrous on it. There is still some sorting out to do with rear end yet and gearing. Going to get some new leaf springs when i find out who makes them. Also get some caltracs. Also put some 6 cyclinder springs in it. As it still has the v8 springs in it at the moment. Also more fiddling with the carby and exhaust off i am sure it will run the 10.2 i am after. I will get car weighed this friday and see what it weighs.

It still needs more gearing as now the stall is locked up and not slipping its not crossing the line with enough revs. Plus it should be 60ft in the 1.4s. Going to get some caltracs and try. Also still sorting out the Pro Systems Carby. Every time we go to the track it gets a bit quicker. It just seems like the Pro Systems carbies need to go bigger in the jets all the time. Should also make a difference when i take the exhaust off.

once you sort out your sixtys, your et will tumble.

if you can get it to 1.40 ish your et will / should be around 10.2x.

i have some suspension ideas for you if your interested, just pm me you mob number.

cheers, justin.

edit. nice reaction time too!!

obviously your not willing to share the cards, could you tell us how many times you run the car and what were the other times??

did it run the 10.40 at night in the cooler air or during the day, what other times did the car run on the day?..

looks like you have it heading in the right direction anyway, good luck with it

The car ran a 10.6 off the transbrake and a 10.4 with transbrake at night. On the day time the track was all over the place as the car was wheel spinning bad as there was no traction. It was running 10.7s and 10.9. During the day it was showing 13.5 on the air and fuel ratio guage which is still a bit lean. Went up 3 sizes in the jets during the day but it was still running lean. Carby still needs more tuning. Will be racing it again soon at Tassie track to get the carby jetting sorted out. Going to put some new leaf springs and caltracs in it first. There were heaps of cars running 5mph and half a second of there times.

I know what you mean mate. I only had one shot at it with no cage, but it was on a street meet with no track prep, and the V8 front springs didnt help the cause. Small pipes/carby didn't help either

Might try a mid size hornet scoop. As i have been told i could gain up to 2 tenths in changing to a forward mounting scoop. Some people have not had any sucess in cowl scoops. I think from memory the dandy car went quicker when they went back to a forward mounting scoop.

This is the dyno sheet from where i had it put on the dyno 2 weeks ago in Melbourne. Wanted to see how much hp my motor really made at a proper acceleration rate. Car is going to be run over the quarter mile on 18th September. Hoping to run a 10.2.

G'Day Croc,

Your new converter has a 4.35% slip which is nice and toight.

Based on your current 130mph trap speed, to get that same speed using 4.56's with your 4.35% slip and 28" slicks, you'd be doing 7400rpm.

Yeah 7400 is about where i want to be. I have a set of 4.86 but i reckon it would be revving a bit too much across the line.

I agree. You'd be pulling some hot 1/8 mile times! but to get 130mph with your setup & 4.86's, you're looking at 7800-7900rpm! Would sound good, but seeing as your peak power is at 7000, you'll probably go backwards??
