Default What's your Fuel Consumption like?

Just wondering how other peoples cars are for fuel consumption.

We have just done about 3500km in our ZC with Alloy Head II with the Air Conditioner on and averaged 13 l/100km (21 mpg) for the trip - not bad for an old bloke.

Also, that is with 245-50/14 front and 265-50/14 rear tyres, so there are brobably pretty good gains to be had by using some 15" wheels and 215 tyres...

Measured the fuel economy in my XB GT on the way back from Adeliade from the All Ford Day. Managed 14 litres / 100 km or 20 mpg in the old money. I was quite impressed.

The Econovan Maxi gets about 20 litres per 100km on a good day. This engine is really stuffed, needs a new one.

Havent worked it out properly yet but I am using about half as much to keep the Focus moving than the Falcon. Makes sense to me!

Not sure of the AU, but focus i get about 600 -620 on 1 tank around town. Not sure what that equates too, but a lot better than 50 litres per 350 k's in the XE

Cool

Depends on the amount of playtime....A little = 16.8/17.2 l/100Km & a lot, well lets just say my servo loves me.... :Up_to_som
P.S Basically all city driving & this is all measured via the on board trip computer and is reset every fill.

For the first month i was rather nice to my ED and it said around 12.1 to 12.8 for 100km
Currently reads 15.1L/100km with an average Kp/h of 32 so most of the driving has been bloody slow, taking off, idling.

In my '97 Laser I get 6ltr's/100klm Hwy and 9ltr's/100klm in town, I just worked out my millage for the Laser last night when I filled up and I'm extreamly pleased to be getting 600+klm's to a tank in town.

I get about 16L/100km's out of my 27 year old 351 P6 LTD, with the original motor, never rebuilt. If I go harder that turns into about 20L/100km's but if I go easy it becomes about 12L/100km's.

Hey All,
Just returned from a trip from CQ (Gladstone) to The Atherton Tablelands (Dimbulah) and my SERIII \AU XR6 used 248 litres for a 2655klm journey, all up.
Can someone work out how many l/100 and mpg from that for me?
Cheers,
Mike

I think its about on average 12L/100 getting about 500 out a tank in the XR, some city driving, some freeway driving. Not too bad overall

I've never gone for this Ltr/100k's. It always made sense to me to work it out K's/ltr. That way, I know, if I have 10 litres, I can go this far.

So, the EL's on lp gas, with a petrol cam, doing about 5k's/ltr
The Hilux (being traded tomorrow - motor nearly dead!) is only doing 10k's/ltr (diesel)
The 750 motorbike does around 17 k's/ltr.

This is around town driving. I'm not going to convert to k's/100 figures.

I really have never worried about it. If I work it out its about 16l/100kms but I'm horrible on the go pedal, I'm on redline at least once every day and its almost all city driving. If I was nice I could probably get 12l/100kms.
Freeway, no idea, never measured it. At a guess, maybe 11l/100kms.

I can get about 600kms out of a tank in the EB, half city driving with the other half on the highway. That's if I drive like an old man, goes down to about 550kms if I drive 'normally'...

That's a 68 litre tank, always leave about 30kms on the trip meter, so... works out to be 10.8 litres/100km. I'm *almost* impressed.

Hey ZC, Thank You. The car, an auto, is excellent on a run, but bites at the bowser in town. Maybe I am a little loud on the loud peddle. : :

Ok someone help me out here with the maths of this! It's before 7am, I've only had one coffee and the converter card I use to work this stuff out is at my dad's house. Gimme a break! If I get to the converter card before anyone answers this then I shall edit this post.

In the EA, on LPG only, we get around 350-400km per tank (69 litres fillable).

In the Rolla, on petrol and in dire need of a reco carby, I get around 400km per tank (46 litres fillable), depending on the fuel I use (unleaded around 300-350km, around 400km on Optimax/Ultimate).

These are both on round town runs... on long runs naturally it's better fuel economy (they both go up to around 500-600km per tank).

What I find scary about these figures is that the rolla costs almost double to fill as the EA, for around the same k's, and the EA is bigger, safer and more comfortable.
