Default Where can I get a Type 9?

Hi,

I'm chasing a Ford Type 9 gearbox (5 speed) from a Sierra. Does anyone out there have one for sale or know where I can get one in Australia?

Cheers,

Rick

I'm pulling one out of my Capri in the next month or so. It is being replaced by v8 and auto.

It has a slight input shaft bearing noise, and the speedo drive gear is broken, comes with replacement, just not installed yet.

You can make an offer if your keen. Otherwise it'll be on eBay in about a month.

Regards, Justin

P.s. I'm in ringwood, Vic.

Sorry guys,

I've just realised that the PM reply's I thought i sent didn't go because board admin won't let me PM 'cause i have less than 5 posts.

I haven't actually got arround to pulling the box out yet and i've had a few enquiries, so i think i'll probably just put it on ebay. Will let you guys know when i pull it out.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

try this guy, Steven

http://classicescortparts.com.au/

from his current newsletter:

"We have negotiated supplies of both second hand and rebuilt type 9 5 speed Sierra gearboxes.
The rebuilt boxes will be closer ratio first gear (2.98:1), which will be suited for Duratec conversions. Also we will have limited stocks of ultraclose ratio, heavy duty boxes; 200HP+ and over 7,500 rpm capability.
"

cheers
Chris
