steel

I'm guessing it hasn't had fuel in it for a while? If it has, make sure all the residue is washed out first, I'd be quite careful welding fuel tanks.

the fuel tank repair stuff is very good, its a 2 part mix stuff. but if u really wanna do it proper, i suggest soldering them up. Run a hose from your car exhaust to the fuel tank filler pipe. This will blow all the fumes out and prevent an explosion.

Yes, the epoxy steel repair kit is good but I'd be asking how much more life is left in the tank if it has holes in it now??? The last thing you want is to have another hole to spring up a week or two after you get it all back on the road. Apart from the inconvenience it coud be down right disastrous. I'd be looking around for another tank - I have no idea if they are readily available new or not. If you were content with a second hand one ... again I don't know what you might find in Brissie area ... I do have one if you got really stuck but transport could be an issue.
