This is what I have been saying. There was never any evidence to support this change.
Just a point of interest, Safari make a turbo kit for the petrol V8 cruiser, makes for a quick car!. also think power to weight makes sense, what are you going to do in a stock 289 windsor powered fairlane? |

We should put it to the RTA what is the basis for the bans and wheres the evidence. Get them to provide facts that say more people have died in high performance cars then Ill shut up. Whats the bet its not more than stocko cars.

Without wanting to open old wounds you just have to look at the popularity and performance of the BA XR6T. Stock it has the same or better performance than it's big brother XR8, spend a couple of grand on Edit or piggyback and it will embarrass a GT or GTS. The new NSW laws are a joke, no thought was put into it all. Power to weight is a much more sensible idea. The other silly part is existing P-platers are allowed to keep their hi-po cars, while new P-platers are power restricted. What a nightmare for Police to try and enforce (when they finally get the power to actually enforce these laws!). The law, good or bad, should be applied to all P-platers I reckon. |
