Yeah this is great info guys, I been thinking about getting fatter rubber for my car (Pat will be happy) and have been looking at Goodyears 235/60 15's on the front and 255/60 15's on the rear all on the orginal Bathurst GLobes. They are not massivly fat but still wider than the 225's I currently have. I have seen this combo on cars and am not worried about the rears but now I am thinking it ay be a problem on the fronts. Oh also important to note I have not modified the ride hight so the car is still factory ride hight... so would I have the same issue with rubbing on the front?

Ha ha ha ....... its still on the original Globes though & Im not lowering it :

So Pat based on you knowledge will that set up be ok or will I have front tyre rubbing issues as per original post?

You shouldnt run into any rubbing issues mate as i had 15x8s on the front of mine with 235/60/15s and ran into rubbing issues until i put 15x7s on there with the 235s and have heaps of clearance now

perhaps a wise choice would be to test out the clearance from lock to lock "before" the car is moved with the new tyres on, and if there are any problems then get them changed then and there

are the rears 60 series for certain or 50 series. if they are 50's the front tyres (235 x 15 x 60) will be a fair bit larger in diamter than the rears

i am just stating the obvious i realise, but hopefully there will be no oversights and you will be very happy with your choice. as you may have read already, a few of us have had dramas we did not need

Very cool that they do them in a 20, I wonder if they still have the white lettering in the bigger sizes?? Woud be cool to have the white writing on big rims

Hey guys,
I've been keeping an eye out for wheel for my XA for a while, still a way off needing them but like to keep an eye out. Anyway, I love the superlites, and was 95% sure I was going with the 15x10 and 15x8 zero offset combo.... Until I was thinking it would be nice to have big brakes.... which then would of course mean I would need 17's... but no one I could find was making them in 17's, so went in search of other styles, but nothing within my budget......... Until now !!!!





I found a crowd in NSW making these for the drift ricers, they don't have any in a falcon stud pattern at the moment, but I think I have found exactly what wheel I want..... Might have to see if I can get them with a blank hub and get them drilled to suit.
The 17x9.0 with -13mm offset will nearly give me the same as a 10" zero offset rim ( few mm in ) but that is negligble, and they make a 17x7.5 with +4mm which is also a tad (10mm) inset than 8" zero offset rim.

Apparently the 17x9's design do not allow for a 5 stud....
They would need to make a new nould, which they say would need an order for about 40 wheel to warrent the 10k in mould cost........

They're less $350 a wheel at the moment, so pretty cheap for a 17" alloy.

I found a nice set of wheels that would look good on my coupe they are 17x8 with a 4.75" back space. Obviously it would be better with atleast 5" back space but can anyone tell me what size tyres could i put on with out rubbing on the rear. Fronts i would probably be a bit conservative.

bf goodrich did - not sure if they are still available though. i believe they are/were the euro (hr) pattern with the 210 speed rating as opposed to the aus (sr) pattern with 170-190 speed rating. the euro pattern was great in the wet unlike the aus one

If you can afford the bigger rim, definately have a look at a 10 inch wide. Especially with the taller 17" rim, the choice of tyre will hug the rim more and wont bulge out like a big baggy tyre does on my 15" rim.
I seen Mikes 18x10 the other day and they fit under there quite nicely.

howdy guys,put some goodyear trackyres on my coupe (got sick of waiting for yokos )convos have a 5inch back space 15x10s



i removed the 2inch lowering blocks from the rear as i was a little worried but no problems ,might put the lowering blocks back on,there 26.5x10.5x15 would be the best fat tyre iv ever owened for looks n grip :

I ordered mine on a Saturday and they arrived on Tuesday. I bought two pairs for the front of my coupe. One set for the 14x8 hotwires and another for the 15x7s. I even got a courtesy call to make sure that I had ordered the right sizes becuase I had an unusual combination. So I received great service.

No 295/50 x 15s but he said he is trying to get them if BFG will make them.

Does any one know if they will fit on an Xb coupe?

hey jack i don't think you should have a problem similar to a 295/50/15 except 295/50/15s are 26' high not 28' but 12.5'' is the same as 295 i think sorry if this has confused you even more

I used a tyre conversion chart and it works out to 320 x 50 x 15.

Isn't Joey A using N50 on 14s on his blue coupe ?
He had some new tyres same size as his originals on order from the states, but not in yet
