I will know in the next week or so, I've ordered a pair of 17x4.5 front runners to suit shelby gt500, the shelby has a 355mm rotor like our aussie 6 pots. Those goose wheels are also available to suit gt500. If mine fit im certain yours will too and it should take a lot of guess work out

Wheels: ROH Flare 18 x 8
ROH stopped making them in 2010, so to get them will require looking for secondhand ones. I'd had the Brembo calipers sitting in the house for several months, while I kept looking for suitable wheels that would fit them and be easy to clean (ie a simple, five spoke design). I ended up driving 948km to get these wheels from Geraldton. Story here. Front: Rear: Front wheel: Back wheel: The car:

Race star 17x4.5 frontrunners on 6pot brembos. Fit very well and still has a bit of clearance.

The car stops when it has to. Would have loved to have stuck with 17" rims though, hence my interest in the posts above.

Who knows if the "motegi MR122" wheels fit? Im looking at buying some in 20 x 8.5 and 20x9.5.
However these will be comming over from the states and fit gt500.. So just making sure the offsets are correct I should be fine?

This is a great thread and hope it continues.
What would be great if this simple chart was filled out and then everyone could see quickly what wheels fit what brake combo. Just knowing the brembo measurements would allow you to compare with your own wheel before buying the upgrade. |

Zumbo Vaige's 20 x 8" & 20 x 10" fit very well over the 6/4 combination on the FG
Plenty of clearance for cleaning around the front caliper too Shane

Your right we have many customers who do not want to fit new wheels as it can be an expensive process but as most forum members are aware you will find that unless the car is fitted with Brembo's it is highly unlikely the factory ford wheels will clear. A good example is the XR6 and XR8 and the factory XT wheels.

Are those advanti nova's on the GT? If so they clear brembo 6/4 brake setups
As I was advised back in march that they wouldn't, spewing as they were my first choice of wheels |

Slightly off topic, but could you get around the brembo clearance problem by running the stock calipers but utilising larger rotors?
Would that be beneficial? I assume it would depend on how much of the Brembo performance is due to the caliper and how much is due to the rotor size? Just thought i'd ask.....

By running the stock calipers on a larger rotor you would definitely avoid any Brembo clearance issues but the people who are generally going to read this thread in particular have either factory Brembo brakes or are looking at fitting Brembo's and are looking for wheel options. To answer your question though, the idea of running a std caliper on a larger rotor is an option and has been done using 330mm rotors and we also sell a larger more solid twin piston caliper that is used on the brembo 355mm rotor but in the end you can't compare the Brembo 4 or 6 piston calipers for braking capacity to twin piston sliding calipers.
