Does anyone know what Tare weight means?
Is that the same as Kerb weight?
Then what is gross weight?

I took my car down to the public weigh bridge in bayswater and it registered 1880kgs. That was with the car how I drive it on a daily basis (no weight reduction in any manner), just over 1/2 tank of fuel, and me sitting inside (~80kgs). The math tells me that the ute without me and fuel and junk would weigh lot less than 1800kgs, which has been the widely accepted weight of the ute. hmmmmmmmmmmm

BTW...it's not free to go on the weigh bridge. It costs $22...but the kind bloke let me off the hook lol.

Tare weight is the dry weight which is always lower than kerb weight which is the wet weight. Gross weight is the wet weight plus payload etc.
