So Glenn Wheatley passed away overnight, aged 76, I remember seeing Masters Apprentices live, may of been Brookvale Oval, A Double J concert back in the early 70's.
Good band, really good. |

Looks like Covid-19 got him!......
I put his age at 76, it should be 74 years of age, my mistake! |

He did 16 months, tax evasion scheme I think, will check later!
Excellent band, very big stage presence, lead singer Jim Keays, in my earlier post I said I saw him at a Double J concert?..was a 2SM promotion, but at Brookvale Oval in maybe 1972, the year they broke up, but he played bass guitar in one of Matt Taylor's early Brisbane bands, a blues outfit Bay City Union, and of course he went on to form Chain! But a better manager than bass player, have a feeling he also played in another Brisbane band, Railroad Gin. |

The other day when Meatloaf died, I flipped through our vinyls and pulled out Bat out of Hell for a listen.
The album sitting directly before Bat out of Hell was by Masters Apprentices. (yes, I keep them alphabetically) |

I haven't seen his younger brother yet to offer my condolences...
About 25ish years ago his younger brother managed a place I was working at. Life moved on. I work in the city looking after an apartment building and who happens to move in? He remembered me much the same as I remembered him. Haven't seen him since Glenn's passing. Hope he is ok.
