Default Best way to get from Tullamarine Airport to Melbourne Hotel

Just looking for the best way to get to our hotel.
Taxi? Luxury Taxi? Shuttle? or Bus?

We will be staying at Hilton South Wharf.

Any ideas?

When we flew in we stayed at a place nearby that had a free shuttle bus. Dropped bags and checked in then jumped back on to the free bus to the train station and into town to look around and pick up hire car and return late arvo to accomidation.

Bus from airport is dear as poision, and they load on the fees and taxes for hire cars from the airport so we left those two options alone.

Used fare calculator online and came up to be about $50 for a taxi, about $70 for a chauffer driven car either statesman or fairlane. $17 for bus into CBD but then would have to get a taxi to the hotel.

Thinking of getting the chauffer driven car as its a fixed rate and most comfortable.

+1 for this. It's $16 and will drop you off at your hotel. Big bus to Southern Cross station and then mini buses from there.

If you want to save some $$$$ to spend over the road at the casino - SKYBUS and walk or catch the tram the 500m's down the road to where you need to go.

Or if you want to just hope in and arrive in style go VHA car. (limo/lux taxi)

Well you could get a cab from one of the hotels (cheaper if its the northern burbs). But it would probably make a little of a difference to just take a cab from the airport.

Your hotel is on the same street as to where the skybus finishs.

The only difference is your 1k further down the road and theres a tram stop just out the front that goes from the front door of skybus to the front door of your hotel or a taxi fare will be $15 (CBD traffic).

Additionally according to goggle maps which always takes the longest way its a 17min walk

Also your hotels prob not on many lists as its only months old its as good as brand new only opened this year!
