Thanks for the great day to everyone who came. There was near enough to 50 competitors, with over 20 of those being classed as comp cars.

ET's for the comp cars were mainly in the tens with a couple in the 11's and Ali's Capri running 9.27 @ 151 all over the track.

There were a few PB's in particular Peter's XE S Pak which ran 10.68 [not bad for a genuine street car], Alex's BA GT 112 mph, Michael's ED 14.22, John's Cortina 10.42 best ever N/A pass and myself who took home a 10.58 sec time slip [funny though as my time was on the readout boards while I was at half track : ]

Winners on the day were:

DYO Competition Class
Win: John TC Cortina [NO GAS... Yeah Right!]
R/Up: Chris XD Fairmont [HSVETR]

DYO Street Tyred Class
Win: Michael ED Fairmont [ED I6]
R/Up: Chris XE Falcon

Most Consistent Award: Peter XE S Pak [XE383] Et spread from 10.68-10.72

Best Burnout Award: Dominic ZD Fairlane [ROKN71]

Best Presented Award: Kevin Capri [DRAGU]

Thanks to Tikfa Racing, Falrek Automotive, Blackburn Trophies for sponsorship of the event. Thanks also to all competitors and spectators and to Heathcote Raceway for providing a first class venue.

The hard luck stories of the day wouyld have to be Luke's XF [lukey_xf] for breaking an accelarator cable, Maurice's XC [XCSVO] for that electrical glitch he just couldn't beat, Freddie's XW [ARXUP] who broke an axle on his first ever 1/4 mile pass and Ali's Capri which had a driveline breakage.

its weird that a lot of the street guys were complaining of a lack of traction, when most of the comp guys were well pleased with the grip

The recent rainfall over your way recently wouldn't have helped mate, but with stock headers and a 60, a 13.30 shows u still have what it takes :

I was doing a rough calculation at http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm and came up with a rw hp reading of:

Using the ET method, I come up with 113 horsepower
Using the Speed method, I come up with 120 horsepower

It made 103.7 on one dyno and 133.1 on another (using special gas) so I think that calculator is fairly accurate.

I keyed it in for HSVETR and got 664 horsepower going by both ET and speed

and for NO Gas Yeah Right (nitrous ET) and
Using the ET method, I come up with 661 horsepower
Using the Speed method, I come up with 648 horsepower
