Default WSID 8/2/06 Update

Just spoke to Wade (Lowride260) at WSID.
He has a new PB 12.905 @105, 1.799 60'. (BA XR8 Ute Manual)
It is still early so there should be more to come when it cools down later.
Rich (Hot460) set a new PB with a 13.48. (BA XR8 Ute Auto)

Go Team BluePower.........

There's a Herrod cammed BA XR8 out there as well, doing 13.8's

Well done wade!

The way you chirp the tyres out the hole, it's no wonder you can rip off a 1.79 60', thats brilliant launching....

Just hope there isnt a crack with the chirp!

My bad, Rich's PB was 13.408, not 13.48 as quoted above. Sorry mate.
You wanna sharpen up on your reaction times too. LoL.

Well done Wade another Pb and it's not even the colder weather yet. That cammed Herrod car, would be good to see a timeslip and a dyno sheet to compare with wade's.

Always good doing a PB, heres my times for the night.

13.173@104.71 1.90 60'

12.905@105.18 1.79 60' 8.251@86.49mph 660' PB

13.017@106.55 1.85 60'

12.932@105.61 1.81 60'

13.025@105.78 1.84 60'

Was a bummer when I did my PB as I cliped the limiter in first could have got me into the 12.8's.

Also well done Rich on your PB and thanks for your help to mate.

Why not raise the limiter a little if its safe? I am certain youll do better times. The limiter may be limiting the car.

A very valid point - one i'd like to address.

shifting 700-1000 past the peak power in any BOSS will yield the best time - but in our mind raises a question mark in reliability.

Being realistic, if they were Race cars, I would set the limiter to 7000. However because so many of my guys have to rely on the cars for daily work duties, the tunes must remain a compromise. Better to be a little on the safe side.

If these guys can run numbers with realistic rev limiters and keep the car reliable, what more could you ask for.

Also, regarding the cammed car, take note of his 1/2 track mph and 330 times. On average I find cammed 260's a tenth slower in the 330 and at least 2mph down to half track.

If the qtr was 100m longer, we would see these cammed 260's start to come into their own - but its only 400m, thats all we have to work with.

I had mine raised to 6000 rpm...its not too bad and gives me a slightly wider power band for usage with the higher stall. It was originally hardwired to 5700 rpm..and you are right "greed kills."

He was disapointed with his times, I think the boss in std state where its a very peaky motor makes it hard to launch (ie: either bog or blow the tyres away) but with these cams it makes it even harder, even finer line between the two so with street tyres you have buckleys of do a good time 2.30 60' was about the best he could get also Ive noticed others have the same problem.

About limiters Stav, mate mine is set at 6200rpm (was at 6000rpm) due to the 4.1 diff gears we raised it as 1st comes up real quick but as Chris said reliability is the big issue mate my rule is 6000rpm is my limit but the extra 200rpm helps if Im not on the ball, only realy can be a problem in 1st. Mate that 60' i did last night was the best Ive done sofar I think it caught me by suprise.
