Here's some assembly update pics. Race suspension and brakes in, Diff in, Wiring loom, heater/vents all in. Car is off today to have fry up in the paint fixed final polish and bumpers, rear spoiler and bonnet scoop fitted.

Engine is back for assembly this week.

Pics of the engine build up and more of the car when it comes back end of the week.

Time for some more updates. Engine build happened over the weekend.

Block ready for assembly with main girdle test fitted.

Crank installed

Setting ring gaps

Installing Pistons

Pistons in 1 head on ready for Cam timing

Setting Cam Timing. Cam was spot on at 0 timing. Nice and Easy

Will put the inlet manifold on today and modify the rocker covers for breathers then off to dyno. More soon.

Today's update. Engine has been on the dyno, made 502.8HP at 6800 and 438ftlb torque, not bad out of unported 4V heads. It's now in the car.

Also had time to make the exhaust tips

Starting to look like a car again

More to come shortly

I've been at it all day walked inside at 10PM. Still needs Interior, windows, wiring, fluids, Front end alignment, start it, fit bumpers and spoilers, bleed brakes and clutch, modify floor for shifter, finish fitting the dash.

And....... I've only got 2 more days to get it done. Hope nothing else goes wrong!!!!

Windows all in but need adjusting, wiring almost finished, need to fix a fuel leak I just found, oils need to go into gearbox and diff, brakes and clutch need bleeding, door handles need to be fitted and trans hump needs reworking. **** it's a long damned list. I may not make it up tomorrow night but will make sure I'm there Saturday.

Thanks Guys

Well, we missed Winton, but progress has been made, engine started and sounds fantastic. It may be a bit loud for some tracks yet, but we'll see. I'm hoping to have most of it finished by Sunday night so I can start working through the little things next week. More pics in the next few days

Sandown is the grand plan. My only real concern is it will have had no track time before the event. I have a friend who is an experienced driver doing driving duties at Sandown. Hopefully I can give it a quick spin around the industrial estate our office is in to make sure all it's faculities are working.

Big couple of weeks trying to get the car together but finally some forward progress. The car finally moved under it's own steam last night. Still have a long list of small things to do but she's taking shape now. Apologies for the grainy picks it was nearly dark when I took them.

looks totally magnificent - it is almost a pity to put the sponsorship decals on it

are you going to put "camel" on the front guards

Thanks. Still a way to go, but I'm reasonably confident now I will make my entry at Sandown. It's back up with the painter, back Friday, then go for it over the weekend to finish

Yes, I'm planning to put the Camel stuff on it. Just not sure about Camel Filters on the Bumper. I'm sure there are other companies with Camel in their name. So at worst it will have all the Camel stuff on it less Camel Filters on the bumper

I do wonder about todays world, you cant make a true replica because of rubbish like that
By you doing your car in full livery will not make one extra person smoke
But I guess its the world we live in

Darwin was onto something, unfortunately lame politically correct do gooders are legislation against one's right to make ones own decisions no matter how stupid they may be!

You're right, the infomation is out there regarding the dangers of smoking, the problem I have is no one has concensus of what is acceptable, note at Bathurst this year Ch 7 pixalated the cigerette advertising on in old footage. Showing a 30 sec grab of a car racing must make thousands want to go and smoke. Yeh right!

The Coupe is looking truly awsome !!

Pehaps you could put Camel Filtors (with an "o" instead of an "e") to get around it ???

Thanks.

Now there's an idea. Someone else suggested Camel Fillers, which was a reasonable idea until I made mention of the old joke. We won't be having Camel Fillers on the car!!!
