Tonight @ WSID John Zapia run ET:5.983 in his HQ Top Door Slammer.....unfortunately then touched the wall in the traps and the car rolled over in the sand.
Good news is, he is ok...

Geez, bad luck there.

Good thing that Zap is still running strong in the 5's, hopefully he'll get the car back on track to its winning ways, though I think he may have a 2nd car.

I remember reading street machine for a while and Victor Brays articles about cracking the 5's and the lead up, 2 or 3 years later he is still trying, though he has been a slither off of it.

there was a few good times last night. couple of top fuellers into mid 4's.

did anyone get any footage of Steve reeds top fuel crash last night? i was down at Brett Stevens racing watching the crew rebuild the doorslammer engines.

what the crew can do in 1.5 hours is amazing. a really good watch.

pity about all the stoppages, was a great night of racing otherwise.

I'm not being a smartass, just curious but...
Victor is a big guy, and weight is a huge thing for these cars, so could that be a factor?

Not at all as the weight break includes vehicle and driver. Although weight distribution could be a factor, the overall weight for all doorslammers is the same depending on which style supercharger they are using!!
