Stav, you mean aside from Heathcote and Calder and the like such as AFF events, dont you?

Are you asking if anyone does this professionally?

I got paid when I came runner up at the LS1 nationals this year in the ford class, It's just the $50 bucks does not quite cover the expenses

I'm not complaining at all, it came as a total surprise, just entered to chase numbers, not to compete. I was still rapt to get it though :Reverend:

Well there used to be good money in betting on the illegal street drags in Dandenong in the late 70's. If you call that getting paid well it was good occasionally getting paid for backing a winner.

Correct, the prizemoney in Top Fuel for example has been the same for the last 10 or so years. If you win you get $12,500. Now remember to win the final you generally have 2 qualifiers and 3 rounds of racing.

The costs for a single 1/4 mile pass these days if you want to run in the 4.7 to 5.0 second range generally costs around $10,000 per run.

$10,000 x 5 runs = $50,000 for a weekends racing and you receive $12,500 for the win and a nice trophy.
