hi there,
just another update on my car........ late decision to go tonight...around 3pm weather did not look good. fitted a surge tank and pump during the week, then decided to drop the exhaust. Not much gain in Kw but added 70nm. 1st run a 1.8 60' and a 11.35 at 121mph 2nd run a 1.78 60' and a 11.30 at 121.8 3rd run saw 1.6 60' and 11.17 car started to creep stalling it up on the next pass and another 11.1 time. decided to remove the headlight during the burnout comp to see how much difference this would make. 60' 1.764 660' 7.162 @ 100.7mph ET 11.050 @ 126.45mph nice increase in mph....more work needed there. shame i only got 1 run after the burnout comp......... A big thanks to Mike at Mikes Dyno's for help with the tune and Paul from KEAS for the auto & converter (works 100%) a fantastic effort considering the engine is stock apart for fitting xr6 valve springs and a reground turbo cam!!!!! Awesome effort.. it's always good to watch the sleeper get out and wreak havoc with the rest of the field !!
What stall are you running?? From what I see it looks pretty lazy off the line, I would think you still have a heap more left in it if you can get that sorted out. |

Good stuff, i seen most of your runs, it launches hard.. Very quick too...
What rubber were you using? They looked like half flat street tyres.. Your knocking on a 10 sec pass for a genuine street car its a credit to you and your tuning shop..

the car is about the 1350kg mark. still full interior.
removed the heavy duty tow pack, thats about all. it has a 2200 converter which works extremely well, just having trouble holding it on the line as the boost comes on. still only 25 spline axles so dont want to transbrake it. gone to slicks at the moment...did 11.5 on street tyres, want to see how fast it will go, then improve street times. |

that is really impressive!! It makes me want to have kept my turbo EB. I was running the same turbo but only got down to 13.6 before the engine went. I had a rebuilt bottom end and a C4 nearly ready to go in the shed but had to buy the AU.

Mate, that is awesome. I would love to build myself a E-Series Turbo for the drags one day.
I wish my car weighed only 1350kg with full interior, lol.

Hey Ea ba turbo, how much ks has the engine done, wat computer u running, so the engine has not been rebuilt ever. these engines dont like to be boosted alot, with out some minor engine changes. good work bro, how much you spent on it, to get it to 11s you would have had to spend well over 10gs on mods.
regards. |

this car has been a budget build.....the car cost $200
the motor is from the wreckers with a claimed 140k on it ????????????? i have done most of the work myself with lots of input from Mike at Mikes Dynos the only changes the engine has had is a head gasket, valve springs...from xr6 and a turbo reground cam it is currently running an early version 1 wolf this engine has now done about 50 passes at the drags with no problems....hopefully a 10 next time |

Well done mate, good work.
I know Mike trahar through dyno upgrades - he used to run the same type of dyno i run now, top bloke and sneaky with the spanners. Congrats, and on to the 10's. P.S, try a drum brake setup on the rear. It will give you more hold on the line, guaranteed. :eclipsee_ |

i reckon the 2.92 is prob a pretty good ratio for a 4.0 with a turbo... 4.11's would be usless..
