Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!
Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week This Holden one tonner is an Aussie classic, the ex-workhorse giving up a life of labour in favour of racing. The high mounted air cleaner and gauge cups on the bonnet not just for show as this cream machine cruised down the quarter mile in 11.7 @ 113.92 MPH. Top Ford of the Week Continuing on with the theme of Aussie utes, this modern classic F6 Tornado was picking up some serious speed for a first timer. Stopping the clocks at 13.5 @ 114.16 MPH, doing the blue oval proud. Top Japanese of the Week Top Japanese of the week goes to another first timer, This Mitsubishi EVO 8 running air-bag suspension proving the car was not just for show. With a fastest time of 14.4 @ 100.48 MPH on the night we hope to see the car back again soon. Top Rotary of the Week This RX4 was one to keep your eye on throughout the night, young Jay Sadek keeping the buzzing beast under control throughout the night running consistent 9’s with a fastest pass of 9.4 @ 139.10 MPH. Top European of the Week The BMW M6 is a long and low slung luxury sedan, though with a 4.4L twin turbo V8 heart it powered down the track in 12.6 @ 122.38 MPH proving its worth of the world famous M badge. Commentators Pick of the Week Commentators pick this week was given to this baby blue Datsun 1600, staying true to its original looks with only a few complimentary styling modifications. With a fastest time on the night of 18.4 @ 74.86 MPH, we love to see these classic cars being put to work! Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information. Next Race4Real is this Wednesday 23rd of September 2015.
