Default drag combat this sunday @ wsid

hi,
this sunday 22nd may is the autosalon run, drag combat at wsid.
not doubt will be plenty of show and no go too.
just wanted to see if any other of you ohc 6 cyl falcon boys are entered??

this is the nsw debut of the new sports compact class, oz6.
with is only for ford, holden, mitsi and toymotors built in oz after 1986.
which is part of the reason i will be making my eb full on drag car.

good to see some xr6t out there.

btw no v8s aloud. mmhahaha

I thought drag combat was all four's, rotaries and turbo's etc....

I might have to have a look for the next event being an owner of a 6cyl and all.

That is us v8 boys.

Mate of mine is trying to get his GTI-R back together for it, but highly unlikely. He's hope'n for an 11.5-12sec slip from it. Might even get a chance to have a fang if he's to tired.

Fantastic news. You said it has to be OHC?? where does that leave the commodore 6cyl being pushrod and all.

Im assuming they are looking for 186/202's, 3800's, 4.1's, 3.9&4.0's, camry v8 and magna v6's against each other??

Great stuff mate.

Maybe us falcon computer jockey drag whores should get into this drag comabat stuff. I didn't realise we could run in OHC nad thought it was for ricers.

There were a few Fords eh! We should support em next time and maybe even I will get out there for another run to wave the flag. I don't think mine is a competitive vehicle in any class but it would be fun.

Its only the high tech VL's that qualify as they are ohc etc with the borrowed Nissan turbo motor. As you know V.N's are pushrod lol.....I guess the newer model does qualify though , its tohc?
I can see this class growing if they treat it right...
Being bracket racing [dial you'r time] you don't realy need to be fast just consistant and with in the qualifying times....

Congrats you must be stoked I was there with a few as my mates as one of my friend had his 304 Skyline wagon in the burnouts but didn't hang around for the finals. I did notice they allowed pushrod V8 Commodores to race.

Same here, thought originally it was a ricer thing.

How often is Drag Combat on ???

The links to the website (I found on a search) are pretty useless and aren't too helpful.

thanks for all the kind replys.
class is called oz6, which is open to all aus built ford, holden, camry and magna after 1986 and must be ohc.
means the only holdens are rb30 nissan engined powered vls.

drag combat is held in most states once a year, run under andra sport compat rules.
another event with same classes is combat attack, run once a year aswell.

car can be stock as a rock too and no time cut offs.

my best et was 11.72 @117mph
and final was 11.94 on 11.80 dial, other guy ran 12.39 on 12.4 dial.
that was how i lost last time, this time other guy broke out.
a wins a win.

i think running slicks is slowing the car alittle
that little bit of wheel spin on street tyres is helping the turbo come on boost earlier.

mods are now underway and hope to be back racing in 6 weeks.
prostock scoop, dry ice intercooler, msd , massive manifold , plenum, and a wee bit more boost......

thanks

michael
