Default Mad Max Historical places run - review

Hi guys

The GT club undertook a Mad Max historical run on the weekend, basically visiting all of the sites where Mad Max was filmed in western Melbourne. Review with pics here http://www.falcongtclub.org/EventLis...6+October+2005

It was a fantastic day, and I think the directions and notes were created by another car club in 2001. However, if your club is looking for an event to organise for your members, I highly recommend this one as
1) it was great fun and
2) all of the directions etc are already done for the organisers
3) almost all of the sites etc are still intact as they where when the film was made 20+ years ago.
4) Some great touring roads

Either way, hope you enjoy the pics at least even if you dont follow the trail yourself one day

Enjoy

Wow! That would have been a great day. Cardboard box spoiler on the back, couple of dark lines scribbled across the car, instant XB GT and I could have headed down.

Hi guys

Yep it was a great day, really enjoyed it

The club would supply the directions and maps I'm sure if any of the clubs or people wanted them.

Gday smciner1, good to see you too! Havnt seen him but he's on the hit list for tonight

Looks like a great day. One other location to add (well known but probably not everybody knows it) is the MFP garage where Goose is working on Max's car is the Melbourne University underground carpark.

Next trip - the Mad Max 2 locations lol

Great day out , i have been to silverton , near broken hill , the memorbilia at the pub and the little town is exeptional . The famous hill where the sand filled tanker goes over. all the sites are great . long drive though, have to be a week away or so.

would have been a great day out, but they missed the most important site, the final scene where max blows up the last bad guy and drives off into the distance, its just outside of sunbury

Johnny the boy gets blown up near Emu Creek bridge on Gellies Road, as a matter of fact!

Sounds like a great cruise, any chance of specific directions to the locations being posted, or even a map?

Have a look on the GT site under events or calendar, they had all the info there.

I want to do it, but want to wait for the coupe to be finished. It wouldn't be the same in the Fairlane.
