Default First Modular Drag Radial into the 7's

Up until last year I was living in Brisbane (Carindale) and am now living in the States, yesterday out at Memphis Motorsports Park at the NMCA (S/S) race we busted off the first 7 second run for a Mod Motor Drag Radial Car

7.98 @ 175.96

Had the wrong gears in it.

Went 5.21 @ 142 at the eighth.

4.6L DOHC Mod Motor (284 ci)
Stock Suspension
True 88mm Turbo (Precision GT47-88
325-50-15 M/T Drag Radial

Video:
7 second Mod Motor on Radials.

We knew it had it in it cause we went 8.23 @ 173 the weekend before at bowling green (NMRA) and that was on BFG radials and a true 85mm GT47.

We are all drunk with happiness, so there's one record that an Aussie got to before the yanks :

Joey Bridge.

Nice work mate, good to see some hardcore modular development. Love the queensland number plates.

Gees that's a tame looking 7. Tracked real well and so behaved. Good work.

That was Billy Glidden in the other lane. It was during eliminations and he was running for a Championship.

Memphis didn't have the Drag Radial Class this year so we had to enter Super Street Outlaw, we were only there having fun/trying for the first 7 second run so I wanted nothing to do with getting in his way.

This thing comes up on boost rather fast, we run in NMRA drag radial (pro tree) and trying to building boost has never been a problem on the line.

Are you still running the factory alloy block or did you go with an iron block.

It's a '99 Cobra Alloy Block.
The block is still standard bore (+ .020), 'No sleeves'.

Believe it or not this thing has never been on a dyno.

We tuned the MoTec M800 from scratch at the track(just took baby steps).

But we took an average of the 'online' calculators to get a ballpark figure and it come out to about 1530 hp at the flywheel, and about 1320 at the wheels, which isn't too bad bad for 284ci with a true 88mm turbo (GT47-88 , no nitrous.

That turbo is only rated at 1500hp, so I think it's safe to say that this thing is quite efficient.

With no wheelie bars on it we are coming out pretty soft 1.34 (60ft) and ramping the boost it, on that 7 sec. run we gave it everything it had 1.5 sec. into the run.
She was still dancing the front wheels 200 feet out
