Dirty Mary and crazy Harry. Well its been a very long time since I seen it. But that line came from that movie too. Its very cliche movie but a race car driver a mechanic and a young lady are on the run from the cops In a big 60's Impala. Later they're able to steal a 69ish style charger. Then like vanishing point comes the Hemi on Hemi action. I won't spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it makes you cringe.

Anyway I hope someone can verify that or maybe I'm wrong.

Another movie I really like when I was young'n was Steven Spielberg's "Duel". I guess that could go as a car chase, even tho it was a truck doing the chasing.

Where are you located? I've seen Driver quite frequently in DS Powerhouse and JB Hi-Fi. It is in a yellow and black packaging. I picked it up a few months ago.

I'd love to help as I've got everything required but I don't have a beta player. (blew up years ago)

You can get Vanishing Point (71) On DVD but I have not seen it to be widely available. If you can't find it in the stores try ezydvd.com.au

I remember sitting in the cinema and the trailer for that came on. I couldn't bare to watch more than five seconds of it. It looked like a big video game with bad actors and an awful script.

There's a few on eBay if you're willing to import:

http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_...All-Categories

I'd also love to see it one day. My father had it in his '80s Betamax collection and I never watched it.

Gees sorry to fill up the page with so many posts but they're all coming to me now.
"Route 66"
A 66 mustang fastback, 55 chevy something else, cant remember
"King of the Hill"

"Born to Run"
70 Fastback Mustang drag racing everyone.
Another one which had a 57 chevy which I presume had some sort of washable paint and took off out the shop with 50 odd other chevys to confuse the cops. Which they then used the same idea in a rice burner movie.

Oh I'll be back with more.
Not a movie but liked 21 Jump st.

"My science Project"
The Supercharged Pontiac that chases the electricty. (i believed it when I was little) Apparently caused a stir with the switch on supercharger just as Mad Max did.
Also Mikeys car was nice too bad there wasn't much of that.

Last night I watched The Cannonball Run, staring Burt Reynolds, Dom Deluise, Roger Moore and Farah Fawcett, Dean Martin, even Jackie Chan.

As you can imagine, it had heaps of nice cars in it and a lot of humour. The running gag with Roger Moore thinking he's really Bond is funny ("The Fly Who Bugged Me").

I hadn't seen it for a long time and thought it started with a Countach that goes into a construction yard to get sprayed with water to change colour, to evade the cops. Is that the second film?

You'r thinking of the Cannonball Run 2. It starts off with 2 girls doing a test run across the country in the lambo.

Last night I watched Deathproof by Quentin Tarantino in 2007.

Think of it as two episodes, featuring the same Kurt Russell character who does some nasty things with his cool muscle cars to two groups of women. You can skip through a lot of the film where the women are just sitting around talking about dating, sex and drugs (and some over-long musical / dancing montages) and get to the parts featuring the muscle cars.

It is styled to look like an old '70s film with clumsy edits, scratches and features largely a Chevy Nova (I think), a white Dodge Challenger (hey, Kowalski!), a black Dodge Charger and one of the later Mustangs in yellow.

While it dragged on at the start of each "episode", the action parts make up for it and the contrast is a big surprise. It then seemed to finish all too quickly for me.

Thats a great list you have there, see if you try find Return to Macon county the 57 chevy on Nos and My science project, the supercharged GTO. I didn't see them on there. There's a couple of movies I'm trying to find which you might be able to help me and I don't know the titles but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about.

I think its called Route 66, But can't find anything under that title. A 55 chevy and red/white 57 chevy race the route 66 also includes a 66 Mustang fastback.

And the 57 chevy that goes under ground through a secret entrance in a football oval

Another is Big Block chevelle which that takes on "Ice Man" A white 69 convertible camaro.

Any help on the titles of these movies would be great.

Nice to see Redline in there, bbcoupe. As cheesy as it is, that film really shows Chad McQueen's inherited passion for cars from his famous father.

I watched a film called Banzai Runner, made in 1987. It stars Dean Stockwell who plays a cop in a regional area who wants to stop speeding city kids with money who come out there and drive their exotic fast cars on his highway. It looked exciting when he takes his huge cop car in to get new suspension and a turbo fitted, but the film doesn't deliver.

Featuring a De Tomaso Pantera and a Porsche 928, among other cars, it is really badly acted and most car scenes use sped-up footage to look more exciting. The suped-up cop car doesn't re-appear until the last few moments to save the day and by then you're waiting for the film to finish.

Ronin had the best car chases ever. That film is pure quality.

The Bourne trilogy have some good car chase scenes.
