As said previously Naish, ********ers. Anybody that thinks this is sus has no idea who Naish is, I can't see him doing this to only lose eveything he has put into it,he doesn't get one freaking red cent out of it so I don't see why he would do it.

ANd don't think for a second because you have a fraud alarm system/smartlock in your car it is safe, theives are getting smarter all the time and pretty much can steal anything if they want it.

im back online-looks like i missed the stuff BAfalcon posted in this thread, but it doesnt bother me anyway. as foon has said, yeah i loved that car, poured money and heart into it and treated it properly. the insurance agency and the police know that this only leaves me out of pocket, and i had nothing to do with it, despite them asking me Q's at the start.

i asked the insurance agency if they where commonly stolen, and it seems that while they are more often stolen with the keys, they have been stolen many times without, however they are usually either stripped down, or burned, so the insurance agency cannot discover what they are using. as was said before, thieves are getting more and more clever. just because smartlock looks good on the surface, doesnt mean it has not been beaten.

What a mess, I feel your anger and sadness....

Too many fraudsters out there that's why you get all the questions from insurers and the police, if they didn't ask any questions then it would just open the flood gates for the same type of person who stole your car to commit insurance fraud.

Hope you can save the gap up fast and you get back on your feet as soon as possible.

I guess also some people forget if your car is stolen you still have to pay your excess and unless your no claim bonus is protected that will also be affected unless the insurer is supplied the name and address of the person who commited the offence.

very sorry to hear buddy :(

Least you are alive and well.

Talk to the finance company and see if they can roll the amount owing into a new car, I can't imagine they wouldn't?

Then you have a new love

Just an idea, what about a small 'get dick johnson back into racing' call-out for iggypopin?

Like I said, its an idea, & hes in a finanicial mess. I'm not talking a huge amounts, just a couple of bucks. Is this acceptable? Both to iggy & FF? or is in breach of FF regulations?

I really feel for ya iggy......

There are some pretty uncalled for post's in this thread, do people really think that just because a vehicle is fitted with "smartlock" and is a modern vehicle that it is void of being stolen, wake up to yourself, nothing is untouchable and it is known that our pride and joy's can be taken from us so easily, unfortunetely.

I remember hearing a story about when the EB come out, the SA police gave one to a bunch of the state's best and brightest questionable characters, and they couldn't manage to steal it in the two days they were given to crack the state of the art security system.

Of course, doesn't mean much now.

it seems to me that he could afford it - someone took it from him

maybe with some more experience, the insurance may have been agreed value, but if no one took it, then he would not have a deficit

Chin up mate. It's a ********** of a thing to have to deal with.

You'd have to be a twisted individual to pull a stunt like that. Take comfort in the fact that they'll get theirs soon enough.

Was there a second set of keys somewhere? Was it bought second hand and a previous owner kept a set?

Have you read the entire thread you tool!
He clearly states that he had reserve funds to cover at least two payments if things went belly up, not to mention that he was paying in excess of the minimum weekly payments.
