WOW,
Looks fantastic, everyone keeps saying it will give Toyota a run for its money, forget Toyota, Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore sales are suffering already at the hands of "crossover cars" like the territory and Kluger and Outlander, I think Mitsibishi are on a winner here and will only hurt an already hurting Falcon and Commodre traditional markets. The New 380 looks awesome!!!!!!!

Not true. I have seen the cars in the flesh and I can verify that the upper spec models have factory 17" wheels and tyres.

I am also unaware of any falcon or commodore AWD,
why is this an issue?

Can't wait to see it in the metal ... when it's released I might go and take one for the test drive and see what it is really like.

Mitsubishi released some information to the media a few months ago and stated that the biggest wheels they could fit were 16's. Have to wait and see, maybe they changed their minds.

What was in a press release from a couple of months ago must be outdated as there are cars rolling of the end of the assembly line this month fitted with 17" rubber.

I think the biggest problem is it is a bit too bland. Its certainly not offensive. A bit like the change from AU to BA really. One had excessive styling, but at the expense of taste to some degree, the other is a bit more like an appliance. BA at least has some degree of styling to it. This 380 has a bonnet crease (which doesn't help it imo) and fancy headlights not too far removed from the Holden Rodeo...

I was expecting something original, looks a bit plain from those photos but we will have to wait and see when they are released to get a good look at them.

I will be interested to see what is Mitsubishi's reaction to these leaked photos as the new car is not due to be released to the public until the 13th of October.

Something about the old model made it look like it was a shell with very little underneath. This one looks nice

Very nice, but I still wouldn't buy one.

Well not until they become rear wheel drive with more power and lose the cardigan image. Oh, and get a decent reputation and resale value.

Its 30x better than the current model, unfortuunatly it looks way to close to the lancer. They were on the right track with the Verada/VRx models previous to the current model. They just lost the plot somewhere. AU V2.0

I'm sure there is a club for EAs too, including wagons! Isn't the world a silly, silly place... :

Back to topic, wonder what they've done interior-wise?

Very true, however the resale on the Falcon is better.

Mitsubishi dealers don't even want Magnas as a trade in as they are worth nothing to them.

It's a shame as I don't think the Magna is a bad car, is just suffers a bad reputation and I think it will take a lot for that to change.

Driven the EA/EB/ED they are ok but I must admit the Magna solara and VRX I test drove in February were a lot more fun to drive. I reckon the new 380 will really hurt the traditional Falcon Commodore market, they look great!
Just because people have said that does not make them change thier love of Ford's though.
FPV's are simply not a valid comparison though.
Maybe a Ralliart 380 will come out in due course and that may infact take away from the Typhoon sales.

Be nice but I don't think they'll get it that quick. MMAL have stated that they are looking at doing a Ralliart later on in the model life provided the model is a go-er though.

Maybe a Ralliart 380 could put pressure on SS/Xr8 sales from those that would prefer a 6...

Ha Im not saying an e series car is a track weapon, or a drifters dream, far from it; but it just comes down to simple physics.

A magna might ride well, and stay relatively flat at the same time, but once you push a bit to hard RWD will always come out on top with regards to enjoyment.

Ok not everyone cares about that, but alot of people actually enjoy driving. the 380 will be a good thing in many ways (hopefully its a wake up call for holden and ford with respect to fit and finish).

but a drivers car it is not.

Paul7v7, Magna is by far the worst when it comes to resale amongst the locally built cars. Camry is the best performing in that regard.

Sorry but that is laughable. It may impact only on XR6/ SV6, and even then it will be a hard sell depending on price. Remember the last Ralliart Magna? The so-called XR/ SS basher..

It's right up there with the supercharged Camry that is going to take on Clubsports and GTs.

Definately nothing to gloat about but some Magnas, especially Verada, there can be upto a 20% difference between what it's worth compared to an equivalant Falcon/ Commodore.
