what is a cheap ford v8 that has decent power and cheap potential to do up!

Without knowing the definition of what is cheap in this case; Cheapest V8 = XD-EL.

ooh boy... im going to guess judging by the vagueness of this question.. that $5,000 is cheap?
EF-EL fairmont V8-at a stretch .. -n do it up..

INCORRECT! FLash tuners only work from AU onwards.. ba-bf-fg..

Think you will find your BA will be faster than a stock e series v8 of mid 90's..

i recently sold my ebv8 for $5k. it had 100000km, 5sp, explorer intake, gt40p heads, larger throttle body, full zorst, 3.9 diff gears and aftermarket ecu and mafless. it would smoke a ba/f xr6, even slightly modded.

the baby windsor is a slug in std form but it doesn't take too much to wake it up. depending on how much you want to spend, there are some good deals to be had from the states (alloy heads) thanks to the strong dollar.

if its in an eb, there is a reasonable weight advantage also.

Are you asking about an engine or a car?

If it's an engine, just buy a new crate motor.

If it's a car, there have been a few good suggestions mentioned above.

u could get a manual au series 2 xr8 for under 10K. they go quite well stock!
if ur lucky u MIGHT be able to find a series 3 for around that price...

OR buy an eb / ed fairmont v8 for a couple of grand and spend 8 on getting it moving!

Is it worth getting something like that? Or spending money on my xr6 n/a what are some effective mods for xr6 without going over board and oher than exhaust and intake

You seem to have asked the same question in 3 different ways now, but the budget has dropped from 15K to 10K now?
Define quick? 10K isnt going to get you much either..... If you want something even semi reliable and roadworthy you're still looking at an AU XR8 with very high K's on it.... and about high 14 sec performance..

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you had to spend another 5K on it in the first 6 months just keeping it reliable and on the road...

The Ford 4.0L + Turbo is one of the Quickest combinations out

Ive been suggested BA 6cyl 305kW Vortech 8psi supercharger would this be worth it?

Are you saying you've been suggested the whole car with a super charger or just the Vortech supercharger?
If its the whole car, depends how much.
Just the supercharger, then id still probs go a Turbo

Just the kit inwas wondering if it's worth putting onto my Ba or a turbo kit will I have to do the motor internals if I was only running around 6-8 psi? Id love to jst bolt on tune and away she goes haha??

This is not school and cars are not made of lego.

You have a BA2 XR6 that is fitted with a light drivetrain. It is NOT a XR6T missing the turbo or a XR8 with a 6 cylinder engine.

Based on all of your posts you really have very little idea mechanically and just look like you want to beat one or two friends in illegal street races from traffic lights.

If you want to be able to do this:

1) Learn how to drive, just because you have a license does not mean you have much driving skill although if the cars are autos and the race is a straight line then you do not need much driving skill (this is why autos are so popular with the "street cred" set).

2) Sell your car and buy something that is quicker.
In Falcon your only choice is a XR6T as all V8s up to the coyote were behind the equivalent LSx offerings unless you go right back to the 1970s.
Buy a holden LSx.
Buy an older wrx/evo/supra/skyline/whatever.

But whatever you do don't modify your XR6, it will end in tears as you will have to spend a fortune on mechanics to get it going reliably and it will be actually worth less than it was standard.

You could just bolt it on but you shouldnt expect to run to much PSI
And where's the fun in that?
Spend the money on getting the bottom end ebuilt, all new parts, toughened bits ect
A big F6 typhoon turbo
And voila, start running 19 PSI and enjoy viewing your mates LS1's in your rear view!

What exactly needs to be rebuilt in the motor? Pistons ? Con rods? Would it be a smart decision buying an xr6 turbo motor and wiring loom computer ect and outing it in?? Or making my motor stronger??

Just pistons and rods, whack on XR turbo bolt ons, and rebuilt the tranny as that won't cope at all, can be done for under $15k with well in excess power to dispatch any Holden V8.

Probs bout 9 starting to push it
You dont want to risk anything tho.
Having the turbo on a stock motor will just make you want more boost, cause under 10 just wont be enough!
